I love getting creative with newborn portraits! When Carter’s parents asked if I could incorporate golf, I was thrilled. I think it’s fun to bring a lot of personality into a session. Of course, I love those simple timeless images to be included too, but each family has something special they usually want to include and I’m happy to do it.
For this golf theme we just got out some clubs, golf balls, and this green felt, then swaddled Carter up and he was ready to go. I looked for a green fur that could look like grass, but I think the felt did the trick. They turned out super sweet. I think he will be the best little golf caddy as soon as he’s on the move.
Next, we changed over to this adorable elephant outfit. It was a little big on him, but we made it work and oh my goodness! He’s just too cute for words. His big sister even had to come over to check him out.
After that, it was time for another swaddle moment which included this hat with his name on it. My favorite part of these was that he was wide awake. Those big, beautiful eyes just looking around. He was such a good boy for the whole session. Just hanging out being a dream. We decided to include a little stuffed elephant too which tied together neatly with the last outfit.
For the final portion of Carter’s newborn session, I got some photos of him and his beautiful momma by the window. That natural light was perfect for these. They’re some of my favorite newborn photos I’ve ever captured. I think they have a timeless look to them.
