Abilene Senior 2019 – Dacey Molina

I wanted to share another senior portrait session for one of our Class of 2019 seniors. Cooper High School Graduate, Dacey Molina, who will be attending Hardin Simmons University. Dacey was the winner of my fall giveaway and I’m so glad I had the pleasure of taking her senior pictures. This special girl has a pretty amazing story and I know it’s just the beginning. She is going to do big things. Congratulations, Dacey! Very proud of you!

The winner for my fall giveaway was selected completely randomly based on whoever followed all the entry instructions. Little did I know I was about to meet a young woman who I had a heart-breaking connection with. Many of you may know that last year I suffered a late term miscarriage. It was a painful experience that I don’t think I will ever completely understand. When Dacey showed up to her senior portrait session, she was carrying this very special photo of her son who she also lost due to a late term miscarriage.

She held that photo up with a proud momma smile. No matter how short his time on earth was, that is her son. My heart aches for this girl who had to go through something so tragic at such a young age. I truly believe she was put in my path so I could see her strength. Age fell away in that moment because we were now connected as women who have experienced loss. She has managed to stand up and still do an excellent job in school. She could’ve let this become an excuse to give up but instead she’s going on to attend HSU and the sky is the limit after that. I know she will never forget the loss of her son and I will never forget the loss of my daughter, but we will both go on having gained a new perspective on how precious life really is. It’s amazing when you know that God put someone in your path at just the right moment.

I’m so proud of all the 2019 graduates and I can’t wait to see what kinds of wonderful things you go on to do! I look forward to sharing a couple of my seniors next year for the Class of 2020.
